Richard
D. - Silver Image Photography and Video
Born in Mexico to a Mexican/Italian father and a Spanish/French mother
whose families eventually had members living in New York, New Jersey
and Los Angeles, Richard and his family came to live in Southern California
when he was 14 years old. From early on he had an interest in artistic
endeavors and began a long lasting occupation with art. When he began
his high school period in Los Angeles he discovered photography and added
it to his then extensive curriculum of art classes. He continued his
art and photography training through college and upon graduation started
his career doing free-lance photographic jobs and selling his fine art
pieces in galleries and art festivals.

|
As
time went on, Richard’s interest evolved
more toward photography and in the mid eighties
acquired a talent for videography as well. Since
then he has continued to sharpen his skills in
both those mediums and at present enjoys a varied
free-lance career in the L.A. area.
“I love graphic imagery and moving pictures” Richard comments. “I
treat every photograph, painting and video image as a challenge in design, meaning,
feeling and story telling capabilities. A good photo, painting or video shows
all those elements clearly. That is what I strive for in my work”.
Richard
is very experienced in using 35mm, medium format
and even 4x5 photographic equipment for some
commercial assignments. Although he considers
medium format quality to be the best one to
use for wedding and other important events,
he will shoot with 35mm or with digital equipment
if requested.
For video work he may use Hi-8, Mini-DV, full size DV or Super VHS depending
on the assignment and the package purchased. In a full feature video
package Richard will include titles, music or voice overdubs, special
effects, full editing, photo montage and any other highlights requested
by the client to end up with a very polished result.
